Miter saw
Use the backstop for repeat cuts where the stock can be brought squarely to the saw fence.
This laser generated backstop allows you to specify custom labels at specific measurements that you use frequently, saving time and reducing errors.

Use the backstop for repeat cuts where the stock can be brought squarely to the saw fence.
The scale and stop help reduce re-measuring when cutting tube, rod, bar, and similar stock.
Lock the stop at the desired position, push the material to the stop, and make the cut.

We started by marking cuts by hand, then tried spacers, threaded rods, a CNC lead screw experiment, and off-the-shelf T-tracks.
The practical answer was better information at the point of use: CNC laser engraving the specific measurements and frequent labels directly onto the scale. That removes the lookup step and makes repeat cutting simpler.
What is the custom configured backstop?
It is a precision measuring stop that mounts near a stationary saw so repeated cuts can be made without re-measuring every piece.
What saws is it compatible with?
It can be used with stationary saw setups including bandsaws, miter saws, chop saws, and cut-off saws when mounted safely and square to the blade.
How do I calibrate it?
Mount the supports, align the scale to your reference measurement, make a test cut, then fine tune the scale position until the cut length matches.
